Widener ahead of Rafa’s first start, Park hopes to take pressure off home games

Samsung Lions head coach Park Jin-man has expressed his excitement for Taylor Widener.
Widener will start against the KIA Tigers in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League on April 18 at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu. Widener, who was released by the NC Dinos and rehired by Samsung, will take the mound for the second time in blue.
Before the game, manager Park Jin-man told reporters, “He threw fewer pitches in his first start. I’m coming up after four days of rest, but I think I’ll be in good shape. It’s a home game, so there might be some pressure, but I hope he can overcome it,” he said, adding that he expected a good performance from Widener.
Widener pitched 6⅔ innings against the SSG in Incheon on April 13, allowing four runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out two. He only threw 82 pitches. He faced the opposition with aggressive pitching, allowing hits but not walks, and went long innings with fewer pitches.
June 17, while with NC. Widener had a memorable start against KIA. He pitched six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. He led NC to a 10-7 victory.토토사이트
