Roman Ibanez ‘almost a teammate’ of Huang Yi, close to joining Saudi Al Ahli

Mourinho-managed AS Roma defender José Ibáñez is reportedly heading to a Saudi Arabian club instead of his ‘yellow shirt teammate’. The culprit appears to be money.

On Friday afternoon, SkySport Italia reported that José Ibáñez’s move to Al Ahli is imminent.

“Al Ahli, who have accepted a hefty transfer fee of €30 million, have reached an agreement with the player himself ahead of negotiations between the clubs,” the outlet said.

Fabrizio Romano, a prominent Italian transfer market expert, echoed the sentiment, stating that “a personal agreement between Ibanez and Al Ahly has been finalized.”

Ibanez has been the subject of interest from Hwang Eui-jo’s Nottingham Forest since the beginning of the transfer window. Having conceded the same number of goals (68) as relegated Leicester City the previous season, Ibanez was a priority for Nottingham, who could utilize him immediately.

Nottingham reportedly offered €25 million for the player, but with Al Ahly offering more, Roma are likely to be open to a deal in the remaining negotiations between the clubs.

Roma brought Ibanez in for a €9 million transfer fee and a 10% sell-on clause (the percentage of money paid to his original club Atalanta in the event of a transfer).바카라사이트

If Roma’s €30 million bid for the player is accepted, they will be left with €18 million in transfer fees, not including the sell-on.
