Jeju United, which has fallen into an extreme slump with one win, five draws, and 10 losses in its last 16 matches, has parted ways with head coach Nam Ki-il.
According to soccer sources, Nam left the Jeju club on May 25. Nam reportedly tendered his resignation, which was eventually accepted by the club. For the time being, head coach Chung Joguk will reportedly take over as acting head coach.
Jeju had been struggling this season since the summer, and their hopes of reaching the Final A (Round of 6) were dashed early. Up until the 15th round, they were in third place with eight wins, three draws and four losses, no points behind second-placed Seoul, but they began to slide in June, ending with a win over Suwon Samsung on May 27.
