Yeoncheon Miracle ‘home in’ on second straight Independent Baseball Gyeonggi League victory

Seongnam MacPies come from behind to beat Seongnam 9-7 in Game 5 of championship series
Hwang Young-mook and Lee Sung-shin combine for seven RBIs as Seongnam clinches 3-2 series lead

The Yeoncheon Miracle has been crowned champions of the 2023 Independent Baseball Organization Gyeonggi-do League for the second consecutive year.

Hwang Young-mook had four RBIs and Lee Sung-shin had three RBIs in the fifth game of the championship series at Gwangju Team Up Campus 2 in Gwangju on the 11th, leading the Miracle to a 9-7 victory over the Seongnam MacPies and a 3-2 record to stand atop the standings for the second consecutive year.

It was Seongnam who took the early lead. In the top of the first inning, Lee Si-mac singled to right and an error put runners on first and second with Ahn Joon singling up the middle, followed by a walk to Noh Seung-hwan and an RBI double by Kim Myung-jin.

Yeoncheon got a run back in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Park Chan-hyung, but Seongnam answered with a run in the top of the third as Park Gun-woo led off with a triple to right-center field and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ahn Jun to keep the lead at four.

After a lull in the fourth and fifth innings, Yeoncheon broke through with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Jang Tae-woong singled up the middle and the next two batters were retired, but Park Chan-hyung singled and an error put runners on second and third with one out before Hwang Young-mook hit a two-run double down the left field line to cut the deficit to one.토토사이트

Seongnam scored two runs in the top of the seventh on a solo shot by Kim Dong-gyu and an RBI double by Ahn Jun to make it 7-4. However, Yeoncheon turned the game around in the bottom of the eighth inning with back-to-back hit balls and sacrifice bunts to put runners on second and third, Hwang Young-mook’s RBI double, and Lee Sung-shin’s bases-loaded double with one out. Yeoncheon preserved the victory by striking out the Seongnam bats in the top of the ninth inning with a triple play.
